The 2025 Australian Apprenticeships Priority List has been released — and the message is clear: There’s strong demand right here in WA for skilled workers across dozens of trades and technical roles.
Think:🔧 Electricians, mechanics, diesel fitters🧱 Bricklayers, plumbers, refrigeration techs🌱 Landscapers, horticulturalists, arborists⚡️ Renewable energy and civil infrastructure🚜 Mining and drilling operators
These roles aren’t “second-best” options — they’re essential careers with:✔️ Job security✔️ Nationally recognised qualifications✔️ Government incentives✔️ Zero HECS debt.
WA’s economy is built on industries that rely on these skills. And for many young people, an apprenticeship could be the smarter path.
At Career Smart, I work with students and parents to explore all the options — uni, trades, traineeships, and everything in between. Because the best path is the one that fits who your teen actually is.
If you're unsure what direction might suit your teen, let’s chat.
